During what I thought were to be my best years yet my world was suddenly upturned. On the cusp of my 30th birthday my grandmother fell and broke her hip. What followed turned into a downward spiral into the abyss that is elder care. As Mimi’s only blood grandchild I was forced to either leave things as they were and let Mimi live her remaining years in a nursing home or, worse yet, on her own; or follow my conscious and give her the best care I could. Unfortunately, my mother, Mimi’s daughter, died when I was two years old and Mimi’s only other child, a son, wants nothing to do with her. As a result, I have jumped feet first into a world I wanted to know nothing about, at least until I reached the mid-century mark.
i just wanted you to know how much I admire you for what you have done and how much I have enjoyed reading your blog. I messaged you on AR one time about the blog. My AR name is Nancy1225.
